Gum grafting is a type of oral surgery that reinforces areas of the gum tissue that have receded, leaving dental roots exposed. Gum recession affects 4 to 12 percent of adults and may go unnoticed until it becomes severe because it is such a gradual process. The exposed roots aren’t just unsightly, they’re also sensitive and vulnerable to decay. Gum grafting gives those teeth back the protection they need.
If you’ve noticed yourself becoming “long in the tooth,” it might be time to discuss gum grafts. Call or email us to schedule an appointment. Dr. Abedini will examine your gums and determine whether gum grafting can give you back that healthy smile!
How Does Gum Grafting Work?
There are three different ways a gum graft procedure can work, and Dr. Abedini will determine the right one for you.
The establishment is clean and well decorated and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I was given options to treat my gums and not force fed a sales pitch, which is a big deal to me. They did a great job while showing that they truly care about my oral health.
My family and I have been coming here for over 5 years. I was always afraid of the dentist as a kid, but now enjoy them taking care of my teeth. I am no longer fearful.
I came here with so many dental issues!!! The previous dentist I had made my problems even worse and I thought there was no end to the pain. I went to Dr. Kenny Abedini and he worked on my mouth for 9 months to get all the work I wanted done. Two deep cleanings, a root canal, ten gold crowns fitted just right (3 lower left 3 lower right 2 top right 2 top left all in the back) so I can still smile and you cannot see the gold. The best part no more pain!!! I have TMJ so I clench and grind my teeth until I cracked my other porcelain down. So this time I wanted gold so the metal will not crack or grind down as fast, and might last the rest of my life. Now the teeth in the back feel great, and look great. I would recommend him to everyone and will be a returning customer for years to come.
The front desk staff were friendly and efficient. My hygienist was friendly, knowledgeable, thorough, and gentle. My time with the doctor was short, because I didn’t have any major issues but he seemed nice. The whole appointment felt fast but not rushed. I also appreciated that they helped me navigate my insurance. I feel comfortable and confident returning, and I’d recommend to anyone!
