How Long Do Dental Crowns Last?

Crowns last between five to fifteen years, depending on your oral health habits and the amount of wear and tear they receive. After we place your dental crown, you’ll want to stay away from chewing ice and other hard materials, grinding your teeth, biting your fingernails, and opening packages with your teeth. This will help your crown last as long as possible.

How All Smiles Dental Saves Cracked and Broken Teeth

One of the most common procedures here at All Smiles Dental is placing a crown. Dr. Abedini will place crowns to help out with many different dental health problems. Some of those include:

  • Covering a dental implant.
  • Protecting a broken tooth or one that has been severely worn down.
  • Protecting a weak tooth from decay or holding parts of a cracked tooth together.
  • Holding a dental bridge in place.
  • For a cosmetic modification.
  • Covering misshapen or severely discolored teeth.
  • Restoring an already broken tooth from further damage.

The establishment is clean and well decorated and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I was given options to treat my gums and not force fed a sales pitch, which is a big deal to me. They did a great job while showing that they truly care about my oral health.

My family and I have been coming here for over 5 years. I was always afraid of the dentist as a kid, but now enjoy them taking care of my teeth. I am no longer fearful.

I came here with so many dental issues!!! The previous dentist I had made my problems even worse and I thought there was no end to the pain. I went to Dr. Kenny Abedini and he worked on my mouth for 9 months to get all the work I wanted done. Two deep cleanings, a root canal, ten gold crowns fitted just right (3 lower left 3 lower right 2 top right 2 top left all in the back) so I can still smile and you cannot see the gold. The best part no more pain!!! I have TMJ so I clench and grind my teeth until I cracked my other porcelain down. So this time I wanted gold so the metal will not crack or grind down as fast, and might last the rest of my life. Now the teeth in the back feel great, and look great. I would recommend him to everyone and will be a returning customer for years to come.

The front desk staff were friendly and efficient. My hygienist was friendly, knowledgeable, thorough, and gentle. My time with the doctor was short, because I didn’t have any major issues but he seemed nice. The whole appointment felt fast but not rushed. I also appreciated that they helped me navigate my insurance. I feel comfortable and confident returning, and I’d recommend to anyone!

What are Dental Crowns Made From?

Crowns are made from different types of material. Early in dentistry, they were made from metals and stainless steel. Here at All Smiles Dental, we use porcelain crowns. The reason that we recommend porcelain is because of their strength and also cosmetic appeal. Porcelain provides a better color match than other materials. They are also better for those who have metal allergies.
